 Registration Instructions

Step 1:  Login to the online registration site, eAYSO and print TWO copies of the forms.  New players use ‘1046’ in the region field during the online signup process.
If you do not remember your password for eAYSO, please call 800-872-2976 for assistance.

Step 2:
Review the information and correct if necessary. If you have a buddy request, please use the sibling box (we cannot guarantee buddy requests, but we do try to honor them), sign both copies of the form and attach a check for the player fee*made payable to AYSO 1046.  A copy of your child’s birth certificate is required if they are a new player to our region.

Step 3:
Return form and check to one of the walkup registration sites (please see the main page for walkup registration information) or mail forms to the AYSO 1046 Registrar (P.O. Box 10865 Tempe, AZ 85284-0015).

A note on player age divisions - U5's are our youngest players, they are all 4 years old at the start of the season (therefore they are U5 or "under" 5 years old).   U6's can be 4 or 5 years old - they are "under" 6.    At the U8 level, players can by any age "under" 8. So there are normally 6 and 7 year olds, but a very skilled 5 year old can also play in the U8 division.   The same general rules take place for U10, U12, U14 and up... The eAYSO registration system will place the player in the correct age division, make a note on the registration form if your child would like to play "up" a division.
* Please see the home page for player fee and walkup registration information.

We have not finalized plans for the upcoming season, but below is our initial plan.

U5's play in a Jamboree format where the players meet for practice each week before the game, then teams are decided after a 20-30 minute practice, then team games are played, this normally takes about 1 hour 15 minutes total.    Boys and Girls practice together, some games may be girls only, boys only or co-ed depending on player skill level.  Goalies are not used.

U6's play on teams similar to the older divisions, teams are typically 5 or 6 players and games are 3v3 or 4v4.   Each team has a head coach and the players on the team remain constant throughout the season.  The U6's also practice before games and also take around 1 hour 15 minutes for practice/games.    U6 coaches may also request practice time through the week if they and the team would like to do this.    Goalies are not used. U6s have separate divisions for boys and girls.

U8's play on teams similar to the older divisions, teams are typically 7 or 8 players and games are 5v5 or 6v6.   Each team has a head coach and the players on the team remain constant throughout the season.  The U8's are expected to practice during the week, practice fields are provided by the league and the head coach will decide the time and location.  Games are typically around an hour in length on Saturdays.   Goalies are not used.  U8s have separate divisions for boys and girls.

U10's play on teams similar to the older divisions, teams are typically 9 or 10 players and games are 8v8 or 9v9.   Each team has a head coach and the players on the team remain constant throughout the season.  The U10's are expected to practice during the week, one or two times.   Practice fields are provided by the league and the head coach will decide the time and location.  Games are typically around an hour and 15 minutes in length on Saturdays. U10 and older divisions utilize goalies and offside violations are called. U10s have separate divisions for boys and girls.

U12 teams are typically 11 or 12 players and games are 9v9 when possible.   Each team has a head coach and the players on the team remain constant throughout the season.  The U12's are expected to practice during the week, one or two times.   Practice fields are provided by the league and the head coach will decide the time and location.  Games are typically around an hour and 30 minutes in length.  Games days vary depending on the season, Friday evenings are the norm for the fall and Saturdays in the Winter/Spring.  U12s have separate divisions for boys and girls. Depending on the registration numbers, U12s and U14s may be combined, but separate boys and girls divisons are typcially maintained

U14's  teams are a max of 15 players and games are 11v11 when possible.   Each team has a head coach and the players on the team remain constant throughout the season.  The U14's are expected to practice during the week, one or two times.   Practice fields are provided by the league and the head coach will decide the time and location.  Games are less than 2 hours in length.  Games days vary depending on the season, Thursday evenings are the norm for the fall and Saturdays in the Winter/Spring.  Depending on the registration numbers, U12s and U14s may be combined, but separate boys and girls divisons are typcially maintained

U16 and U19 teams are a max of 18 players and games are 11v11 when possible.   Each team has a head coach and the players on the team remain constant throughout the season.  The U16/U19's are expected to practice during the week, one or two times.   Practice fields are provided by the league and the head coach will decide the time and location.  Games are less than 2 hours in length.  Games days are typically Saturdays.  Since we typically only have 1 or 2 teams per division in the fall, the fall teams play against other AYSO regions in the east valley.  For the winter/spring season, the other regions do not have programs, so the players either form "traveling" teams or play "pickup" games on Saturdays.

Because of the restructuring of many divisions and the fact that not all coaches will be returning, we'll be accepting buddy requests again.  Use the "sibling" field for these requests and you can request more than one buddy, but as always no buddies are guaranteed.  If more than one buddy is requested, then it gives the division coordinator additional flexibility and they will strive to at least get one buddy on the team.

In the fall seasons it is normally not possible or desirable to keep teams together from previous seasons).   Some players move up a division while others do not, and we typically have some new coaches.   In the Winter season, many times we are able to keep most players together from their fall teams, and this is always the intent but because of other factors such as coaches leaving to do other sports, this is not always possible.
